What are smokers lines?

As we get older, our skin naturally becomes thinner and less elastic, which causes these fine lines and wrinkles to appear more pronounced. Our Smokers Lines treatment experts can help you achieve smoother-looking skin and natural, realistic results.

Smokers’ Lines, sometimes called Lipstick Lines, are tiny vertical lines that appear above the upper lip and develop when we pucker or pout. They are often caused by repetitive facial expressions, UV exposure, and lifestyle, forming a natural part of the ageing process. However, it’s not only smokers prone to getting these dynamic wrinkles.

​How does smokers lines treatment work?

Injectables work by relaxing muscle movement around the mouth, making fine lines above the upper lip look less visible. It also smooths and tightens the skin to help soften the appearance of wrinkles.

The amount of filler we use during the smokers’ lines treatment will depend on the look you would like to achieve and the prominence of the lines you would like to smooth. During your consultation with a member of our expert team, we will thoroughly discuss your requirements to create a customised smoker lines treatment plan.

Does it hurt?

Botox injections do not hurt when injected for the brow lift, forehead, crow’s feet, furrows, or other facial muscles. However, some patients are more sensitive to cosmetic injections than others. If you are sensitive to injections, we recommend applying a topical numbing cream one hour before your treatment to minimize any potential discomfort from the Botox injections.​

Aftercare

Once your treatment is over you will be given written post treatment instructions and advised to keep the area clean and free of makeup for 12 hours. You will be encouraged to contact the clinic if you have any concerns following treatment and will be offered a complimentary review appointment if deemed necessary.
