What are bunny lines?

Bunny lines are diagonal and vertical wrinkles that appear on the bridge of the nose and on either side of the nose with repeated contractions (squinting and laughing) of the nasalis muscle. Bunny lines cannot be found on everyone and are not universally disliked, but some people dislike them and decide to treat them.

​How does bunny smile treatment work?
​

Botox works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that cause muscle contractions. When injected into the muscles around the nose, Botox relaxes the muscles and prevents them from contracting. This smooths out the skin and reduces the appearance of bunny lines.

Does it hurt?
​
Botox injections do not hurt when injected for the brow lift, forehead, crow’s feet, furrows, or other facial muscles. However, some patients are more sensitive to cosmetic injections than others. If you are sensitive to injections, we recommend applying a topical numbing cream one hour before your treatment to minimize any potential discomfort from the Botox injections.

 

How long do results last?

The effects of Botox for bunny lines usually last up to 3 to 4 months. After this time, the muscle activity around the nose will gradually return, and the bunny lines will reappear. However, with regular repeat treatments, the muscles will stay relaxed, resulting in a longer-lasting effect.​

Aftercare

Once your treatment is over you will be given written post treatment instructions and advised to keep the area clean and free of makeup for 12 hours. You will be encouraged to contact the clinic if you have any concerns following treatment and will be offered a complimentary review appointment if deemed necessary.
